Striped skunk
Mephitis mephitis — Skunks
A black-and-white omnivore whose famous spray is a last-resort defence, not its first response to trouble.
Do not handle this animal with bare hands, and do not let it near a pet. It is a rabies-vector species, which changes both the procedure and who is permitted to take it.
