Eastern red bat
Lasiurus borealis — Bats
A solitary, rust-red bat that spends the day hanging in the leaves like a dead leaf itself.
Do not handle this animal with bare hands, and do not let it near a pet. It is a rabies-vector species, which changes both the procedure and who is permitted to take it.
